I The member may submit a written statement regarding any material, and the same shall
2 be attached to the file copy of the material in question.
3 B. No more than one (1) official personnel record may be maintained for any
4 member of the bargaining unit. Any member of the bargaining unit may examine his/her post-
S employment persom1el record. A member shall have access to his/her records during normal
6 business hours by appointment and may elect to be accompanied by a representative of the FF A
7 when the member examines it. Upon request and at the member's own cost, the member will be
8 provided a copy of such post-employment records as requested.
9 4.3 Faculty Participation: Educational Policy
1 0 A. This Agreement shall not be construed to deny faculty the opportunity to
11 participate on committees.
12 B. The FFA may raise for discussion, with faculty and administration, issues of
l3 concern to faculty including the adoption of new educational policies.
14 Section 5- RIGHTS OF THE EMPLOYER
15 It is the responsibility of the Employer to fulfill the role and mission of the University
16 stated in the Ferris State University Mission Statement. h1 fulfilling its role and mission:
17 A. The Employer, on its own behalf, hereby retains and reserves m1to itself,
18 without limitation except as herein provided, all power, right, authority, duties, and
19 responsibilities conferred upon and vested in it by laws and the constitution of the State of
20 Michigan, and of the United States, including all of the customary and usual rights, powers,
21 functions and authority of management.
22 B. The exercise of the foregoing powers, rights, authority, duties and
23 responsibilities by the Employer, the adoption of reasonable policies, rules, regulations and
24 practices in furtherance thereof, and the use of judgment and discretion in connection therewith
25 shall be limited only by the specific and express terms of this Agreement and then only to the
26 extent such specific and express terms are in conformance with the Constitution and the laws of
27 the State of Michigan and the Constitution and laws of the United States.
28 Section 6 - SENIORITY
29 6.1 Determination of Seniority/Definitions
30 A. For full-time Board-appointed members, seniority shall be defined as length
31 of continuous service from the actual date the member was scheduled to report for bargaining
32 unit work, unless otherwise expressly defined herein.
33 B. For Board-appointed part-time members who have been employed for at least
34 one-half of the average load for their department, seniority shall be defined as length of
3 5 continuous service from the actual date the member was scheduled to report for bargaining unit
36 work.
