I The member may submit a written statement regarding any material, and the same shall<br />
2 be attached to the file copy of the material in question.<br />
3 B. No more than one (1) official personnel record may be maintained for any<br />
4 member of the bargaining unit. Any member of the bargaining unit may examine his/her post-<br />
S employment persom1el record. A member shall have access to his/her records during normal<br />
6 business hours by appointment and may elect to be accompanied by a representative of the FF A<br />
7 when the member examines it. Upon request and at the member's own cost, the member will be<br />
8 provided a copy of such post-employment records as requested.<br />
9 4.3 <strong>Faculty</strong> Participation: Educational Policy<br />
1 0 A. This Agreement shall not be construed to deny faculty the opportunity to<br />
11 participate on committees.<br />
12 B. The FFA may raise for discussion, with faculty and administration, issues of<br />
l3 concern to faculty including the adoption of new educational policies.<br />
14 Section 5- RIGHTS OF THE EMPLOYER<br />
15 It is the responsibility of the Employer to fulfill the role and mission of the <strong>University</strong><br />
16 stated in the <strong>Ferris</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> Mission <strong>State</strong>ment. h1 fulfilling its role and mission:<br />
17 A. The Employer, on its own behalf, hereby retains and reserves m1to itself,<br />
18 without limitation except as herein provided, all power, right, authority, duties, and<br />
19 responsibilities conferred upon and vested in it by laws and the constitution of the <strong>State</strong> of<br />
20 Michigan, and of the United <strong>State</strong>s, including all of the customary and usual rights, powers,<br />
21 functions and authority of management.<br />
22 B. The exercise of the foregoing powers, rights, authority, duties and<br />
23 responsibilities by the Employer, the adoption of reasonable policies, rules, regulations and<br />
24 practices in furtherance thereof, and the use of judgment and discretion in connection therewith<br />
25 shall be limited only by the specific and express terms of this Agreement and then only to the<br />
26 extent such specific and express terms are in conformance with the Constitution and the laws of<br />
27 the <strong>State</strong> of Michigan and the Constitution and laws of the United <strong>State</strong>s.<br />
28 Section 6 - SENIORITY<br />
29 6.1 Determination of Seniority/Definitions<br />
30 A. For full-time Board-appointed members, seniority shall be defined as length<br />
31 of continuous service from the actual date the member was scheduled to report for bargaining<br />
32 unit work, unless otherwise expressly defined herein.<br />
33 B. For Board-appointed part-time members who have been employed for at least<br />
34 one-half of the average load for their department, seniority shall be defined as length of<br />
3 5 continuous service from the actual date the member was scheduled to report for bargaining unit<br />
36 work.<br />
