B. Compensation:<br />

1. Salary for a full summer teaching load of courses/sections shall be<br />

thirty-five percent (35%) oftbe member's regular academic year salary.<br />

2. Under normal circumstances, it shall not be the practice of tbe Employer<br />

to pay a non-member more than a member would receive for teaching the same course.<br />

Exceptions shall be reported in writing by the provost/vice president for Academic<br />

Affairs or designee to tbe FF A president in writing prior to the start of class.<br />

C. Summer Rotation List:<br />

I. By September 15, department heads will distribute a questionnaire to<br />

members requesting that they express their interest in teaching summer semester.<br />

2. By October 1, members must return the questionnaire to their<br />

department head. Failure to return the questionnaire will be deemed a negative response.<br />

3. Members who respond in the negative will not be considered for<br />

summer employment but will maintain their relative position on the rotation list.<br />

4. Members who respond in the affirmative have until the begilming of<br />

early summer registration (generally the third week of spring semester) to decline<br />

employment without prejudice to their position on the rotation list. Members accepting<br />

summer employment will be expected to carry out the assigned responsibilities. Requests<br />

after the beginning of early summer registration to decline employment which are made for<br />

professional reasons or reasons of health, will be considered on their merit.<br />

5. No member shall be required to accept less than a full load. Members<br />

declining less than a full load shall remain in place on the rotation list.<br />

6. Each member shall have the opportunity to accumulate a full load<br />

before starting over on the rotation list.<br />

7. Once the initial assignments are made, mutually agreeable exchanges<br />

may occur between qualified members witl1 the concurrence of tbe department head or dean<br />

until the beginning of fall registration, generally the third week of March, and continued<br />

summer registration. Denial of a proposed trade must be based on lack of course-specific<br />

qualifications.<br />

8. Summer courses listed as internship, co-op, or clinical will continue to<br />

use tbe existing per student formulas for computing summer salary.<br />

9. Teaching loads for summer semester will be consistent with<br />

department work load policies. In addition, summer semester projects for which a<br />

member's rate of pay is determined as a fraction ofload shall be equated as part of a full load<br />

compensation for summer.<br />

10. Any of the following for which a member's rate of pay is determined<br />

as a fraction ofload shall be credited against his/her summer rotation list position: on-<br />
