Geometry<br />
The first process in programming a<br />
comp<strong>on</strong>ent file <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> geometry creati<strong>on</strong>. NC<br />
Express offers a full CAD package for<br />
comp<strong>on</strong>ent generati<strong>on</strong>. Alternatively, geometry<br />
can also be imported from a standard DXF file<br />
format. Open c<strong>on</strong>tours within a comp<strong>on</strong>ent<br />
file can be cleaned automatically according to<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> set system tolerance. For open c<strong>on</strong>tours or<br />
duplicate line segments outside <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> system<br />
tolerance, NC Express will d<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>play where<br />
problem areas ex<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>t for quick and easy<br />
cleaning.<br />
Automati<strong>on</strong> of importing of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> geometry<br />
can be d<strong>on</strong>e when using <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> MRP database<br />
(OMS). Through th<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> process, comp<strong>on</strong>ent files<br />
can be generated from a DXF file or by using<br />
parametric scripting. During th<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> process <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
geometry, tooling, and storing of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
comp<strong>on</strong>ent file <str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> accompl<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g>hed.<br />
Tool Placement<br />
The NC Express Autotool will<br />
automatically place optimal tool routines and<br />
tool placement in accordance with <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>machine</str<strong>on</strong>g>’s<br />
capabilities. Additi<strong>on</strong>al automati<strong>on</strong> of robot<br />
placement and last hit orientati<strong>on</strong> for unloading<br />
<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> set properly for sorting of comp<strong>on</strong>ents. Any<br />
secti<strong>on</strong> of tooling placed by <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> Autotool<br />

True Shape Nesting<br />
True Shape Nesting utilizes <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> true<br />
boundary of <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g> part as it appears in <str<strong>on</strong>g>the</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />
drawing. Th<str<strong>on</strong>g>is</str<strong>on</strong>g> allows a tighter fit between parts<br />
as compared to rectangular nesting. True Shape<br />
Nesting allows parts to be interlocked and<br />
provides substantially higher material<br />
