Customer Technology Tour 2006
Finn-<strong>Power</strong> recently hosted a technology trip to Montreal for its North American
customers. Last May 7-10, <strong>the</strong> tour group v<strong>is</strong>ited seven sheet metal fabricator facilities
in <strong>the</strong> Montreal region. Leading <strong>the</strong> tour were Lou<strong>is</strong> Pellin, sales engineer, and Lutz
Ehrlich, punching /automation project manager.
“These trips give customers a better understanding of
how Finn-<strong>Power</strong> equipment works in a real production
environment,” explains Ehrlich. “It also allows <strong>the</strong>m to see
<strong>the</strong> many features and benefits of Finn-<strong>Power</strong> <strong>machine</strong>s,
systems, and cells. It <strong>is</strong> important to show <strong>the</strong> customer <strong>that</strong>
automation has become a reality in North America – not
<strong>only</strong> in Europe.”

DISPLAYED AT MONTREAL SHOW
The Montreal Fabricating & Machine Tool Show was held May
15 -17 at Place Bonaventure, Montreal, Quebec. On d<strong>is</strong>play were
Finn-<strong>Power</strong>’s C5 Compact Express and E Series servo-electric press
brake.
“The big buzz at
<strong>the</strong> show was <strong>the</strong>
compact footprint of
<strong>the</strong> C5,” explains Lou<strong>is</strong>
Pellin, sales engineer of
Finn-<strong>Power</strong> Canada.
“We had many v<strong>is</strong>itors
each day of <strong>the</strong> show
interested in <strong>the</strong> C5
and E press brake.”

E-SIZE TOOL HOLDER
Finn-<strong>Power</strong> has introduced an E-size tool holder for our latest
models. E-size holders are available for cluster and forming tools.
With cluster, more holes per punch can be achieved for a faster
punching process. Also longer forms can be made using E-size tools
and bottom stroke.
Finn-<strong>Power</strong> tool holder accepts E-size tools by Mate Prec<strong>is</strong>ion
Tooling and Wilson Tool. O<strong>the</strong>r makes must be checked case by case.
E-size stations are not available with indexing or upforming.
They can be used with cluster tools up to 118 mm diameter punching
area.
With normal punching tools <strong>the</strong>y can be used up to 89 mm, i.e.
<strong>the</strong> same diameter as a D-station.
Tools are available <strong>only</strong> for new <strong>machine</strong>s, retrofitting for E-size
tool holder <strong>is</strong> not available.
Special tool holder must
