He was united in marriage to Lydia HAIMBAUGH in 1872 to whom were born two children, Rudy<br />
[BYBEE], who died in 1908 and a daughter, who died in infancy.<br />
He leaves two granddaughters, Mrs. Mildred BYBEE GOODMAN, and Mrs. Elma BYBEE ZENT,<br />
both of near Mentone; three great-grandchildren, Marilyn [GOODMAN] and Roger GOODMAN and<br />
Kermit ZENT. Also a sister, Phoebe Jane SHOEMAKER of Talma and two half-sisters, Cynthia<br />
EHERENMAN of South Bend and Alma EHERENMAN of Ft. Wayne, and other relatives and a host of<br />
friends. A sister, Mrs. Hannah BRYANT passed away two weeks ago.<br />
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 11th, <strong>1937</strong> at 2 o’clock at the Baptist Church in Mentone,<br />
Rev. SQUIBBS, a former pastor, officiating.<br />
Mrs. Ida [BROOKS] PARAMORE, aged 69, died at 5:30 o’clock Saturday morning at the home of her<br />
daughter Mrs. Percy SMITH at the corner of Pontiac and West Eighth Streets following a heart attack.<br />
Mrs. Paramore had been in ill health for several years due to heart trouble but her death which is a<br />
shock to her many friends in this city was entirely unexpected. It is believed the oppressive heat of the past<br />
few days hastened her end.<br />
<strong>The</strong> deceased was born in Hebron, Ind., on September 16, 1867. Her parents were Job and Arminta<br />
BROOKS. In a ceremony which was performed in Hebron she was married to the late Fred PARAMORE.<br />
Thirty years ago Mrs. Paramore moved to this city to reside. Since moving to Rochester the deceased<br />
has been prominent in church, social and civic circles here. She was a devout member of the Grace<br />
Methodist Church and was active in the Eastern Star Lodge and Manitou Chapter of the Daughters of the<br />
American Revolution.<br />
Survivors are the daughter Mrs. SMITH; granddaughter Miss Jane SMITH and a sister Mrs. Louis<br />
WEISS, Syracuse, N.Y.<br />
<strong>The</strong> funeral services will be held from the Smith home at 10:30 o’clock Monday morning. Interment<br />
will be made in the cemetery at Hebron.<br />
Injuries sustained in an automobile accident east of Winamac last September hastened the death of<br />
Mrs. Eunice SMITH, 70, widow of Henry C. SMITH, of Winamac, who succumbed Friday afternoon at the<br />
home of her daughter, Mrs. Harvey RHOADES, near Lucerne.<br />
In the crash, Mrs. Smith suffered a broken collar bone and other injuries that necessitated her<br />
confinement to the Carneal hospital, Winamac, for two weeks. Since then her health has failed gradually.<br />
On May 8 she was removed from her home at Winamac to the home of the daughter near Lucerne<br />
where she has been confined to her bed almost constantly.<br />
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ethel BAKER of Winamac; Mrs. RHOADES of Lucerne; Mrs.<br />
Mabel LEE of Chicago, and Mrs. Clara HENDERSON of Kewanna; two sons, Roland [SMITH] of<br />
Rochester, and Gordon [SMITH] of North Liberty; a sister, Mrs. Gordon McCRACKIN of Harvey, Ill.; a<br />
brother, James ROSE of Michigan; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.<br />
<strong>The</strong> body was prepared for burial at the Fry and Lang parlors in Winamac and will be taken to the<br />
Smith residence in Winamac today.<br />
Funeral rites will be held at the Kewanna Christian Church at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon and burial<br />
will be made in the I.O.O.F. cemetry there.
