Six years ago a brother, Clyde [MILLER], met a tragic death near here.<br />

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Methodist Church in Akron for<br />

Mrs. W[infield] B. [Kezia PUTMAN] KUHN, aged 84, who was found dead in her bed Tuesday morning<br />

by Miss Marjorie SLAYBAUGH. Rev. J. F. STEPHENSON will be in charge, assisted by Rev. D. L.<br />

SLAYBAUGH. Burial will be made in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Akron.<br />

<strong>The</strong> lifeless body of Mrs. Kuhn was found by Miss Slaybaugh when she went to the home after<br />

neighbors became alarmed when they did not see the aged lady who lived alone about her yeard yesterday.<br />

Dr. Dean STINSON, coroner, was called and ruled that death resulted from a heart attack suffered<br />

sometime Monday night.<br />

Mrs. Kuhn had been in her usual health and was host to a group of friends and relatives at her home<br />

Monday evening. She had made no complaint of illness up to the time the guests left about 10 o’clock.<br />

<strong>The</strong> deceased was born in Ohio on October 8, 1852 and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob<br />

PUTMAN. She had lived in Akron the greater portion of her life. She was a member of the Akron<br />

Methodist Church.<br />

Survivors are the daughter Mrs. George KREIG, Akron; two sons Arthur [KUHN] and Clyde KUHN,<br />

Akron; a sister Mrs. Lavina CLEVENGER and a brother David PUTMAN both of Rochester; six<br />

grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.<br />

<strong>The</strong> body was moved to the Moyer Funeral Home and will be returned to the home of Mrs. George<br />

KREIG, the daughter, late Wednesday afternoon where friends may call and pay their respects.<br />

Julia Ann [BROWN], infant daughter of Wilbur and Elika (McCUTCHEON) BROWN who reside on<br />

a farm four miles south of Macy died at 4 o’clock Wednesday morning. <strong>The</strong> baby had been ill since<br />

Sunday.<br />

Survivors are the parents; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. BROWN, who live on farm south<br />

of Macy and the maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Lee McCUTCHEON of near Mentone.<br />

<strong>The</strong> funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday from the home of the parents with Rev. C. F.<br />

GOLDEN, pastor of the Baptist Church of Denver officiating. Burial will be made in the cemetery at Five<br />

Corners two miles [west] of Macy.<br />

Thursday, July 15, <strong>1937</strong><br />

Mrs. [James] Ervin [Evvie Mae CARR] BRYANT, of this city, passed away at 2:30 o’clock Thursday<br />

morning, at her home 1020 <strong>Fulton</strong> avenue. Death resulted from complications following an illness of over<br />

six months duration.<br />

<strong>The</strong> deceased who had been a resident of the Athens community for a long number of years had a wide<br />

acquaintance of friends throughout the eastern section of the county. Mrs. Bryant had been a resident of<br />

Rochester for a little over a year.<br />

Mrs. Bryant, who was the daughter of Benjamin and Cynthia CARR was born at Silver Lake, Indiana,<br />

on February 23rd, 1873. On April 25th, 1891, she was united in marriage to Ervin BRYANT; the ceremony<br />

being pronounced at Warsaw, Ind. Her husband passed away on August 11th, 1935. Mrs. Bryant was a<br />

member of the Church of God of Athens and was an active worker in that organization.
