Who?<br />

• Before a game or <strong>play</strong> activity begins, ensure that each child <strong>is</strong> fully aware of<br />
who <strong>is</strong> <strong>play</strong>ing in a group situation.<br />
• If turn taking <strong>is</strong> necessary, each child should be given a number so that the<br />
right order <strong>is</strong> cons<strong>is</strong>tently followed. The numbers can be written on a slip of<br />
paper and stuck onto the chair and/or table where the child will sit.<br />
• Th<strong>is</strong> will help the children’s understanding that they are part of a group and<br />
that they need to interact appropriately within the group.<br />
<strong>What</strong>?<br />
• The children need to understand what they are using in the game or activity.<br />
Th<strong>is</strong> can be clearly explained with v<strong>is</strong>ual guides as may be needed for each<br />
separate situation.
