All gas temperatures were taken with 0.0625-in. diameter inconel sheathed Type K
thermocouples as shown in Figure B-1 of Appendix B. Note that this photograph shows a short
immersion length thermocouple. The immersion lengths used in the actual test were
significantly larger.
8.3.1.1 Gas Temperature at Ceiling in Living Room
The gas temperature in the primary living room space was measured with equally spaced
thermocouples positioned nominally 3.5 ft. on center, 3 inches below the ceiling. Nine
thermocouples were used for this test arrangement. See Figure 17 for layout.
8.3.1.2 Gas Temperature at Ceiling in Corridor
The gas temperature in the corridor, adjacent to the primary living room space was measured
with equally spaced thermocouples positioned nominally 3.5 ft. on center, 3 inches below the
ceiling, centered on the corridor width. Four thermocouples were used for this test arrangement.
