All gas temperatures were taken with 0.0625-in. diameter inconel sheathed Type K<br />

thermocouples as shown in Figure B-1 <strong>of</strong> Appendix B. Note that this photograph shows a short<br />

immersion length thermocouple. The immersion lengths used in the actual test were<br />

significantly larger.<br />

8.3.1.1 Gas Temperature at Ceiling in Living Room<br />

The gas temperature in the primary living room space was measured with equally spaced<br />

thermocouples positioned nominally 3.5 ft. on center, 3 inches below the ceiling. Nine<br />

thermocouples were used <strong>for</strong> this test arrangement. See Figure 17 <strong>for</strong> layout.<br />

8.3.1.2 Gas Temperature at Ceiling in Corridor<br />

The gas temperature in the corridor, adjacent to the primary living room space was measured<br />

with equally spaced thermocouples positioned nominally 3.5 ft. on center, 3 inches below the<br />

ceiling, centered on the corridor width. Four thermocouples were used <strong>for</strong> this test arrangement.<br />

See Figure 17 <strong>for</strong> layout.<br />
