Figure 37 – Corridor Ceiling Temperature Reduction Comparison
Additional comparison data for smoke production at the instrumented fire fighter location in the
corridor can be seen in Appendix E (refer to para. 8.3.3.2 for instrument location in corridor).
The results show the percent obscuration in the water only attack for both the wide spray and
straight stream attack is between the most and least obstructed test in the agent series.
Oxygen concentration information is presented in Appendix F. The data shows the oxygen
concentration in the primary space as well as the adjacent corridor. Refer to paragraph 8.3.2 for
location of the gas sampling tube in the living room and corridor. The data highlights the time it
took from initial fire fighter attack, to the point where the oxygen concentration in the living
room recovers to 20% oxygen concentration. The results of the data show the application of
some agents are slightly quicker and some agents are slightly slower in recovery of the oxygen
concentration compared with the water baseline for both the straight stream as well as the wide
spray attacks.
