The Government reported its plan to set up a National Cornnittee in Dakar,
responsible for carrying out the emergency program on a national basis to
distribute food ccarmodit)es dmated by foreigsl organizatim and countries.
Members of the Comnlttee'~inc1uded Ministries of Rural Development, Health
and Social Affairs, Finance, Public Works and msidentls General
Secretariat. On the local level additional committees were to be fomd
in armndissements composed of: Chief of Arrondissement, Chief of Rural
Extension Services, Chief of ONCAD, Civilian designated by 'the Chief
dlArrondissement, Rural Extension Works, Political representative of the
area and Catholic Relief Services representative.
