The Government reported its plan to set up a National Cornnittee in Dakar,<br />

responsible for carrying out the emergency program on a national basis to<br />

distribute food ccarmodit)es dmated by foreigsl organizatim and countries.<br />

Members of the Comnlttee'~inc1uded Ministries of Rural Development, Health<br />

and Social Affairs, Finance, Public Works and msidentls General<br />

Secretariat. On the local level additional committees were to be fomd<br />

in armndissements composed of: Chief of Arrondissement, Chief of Rural<br />

Extension Services, Chief of ONCAD, Civilian designated by 'the Chief<br />

dlArrondissement, Rural Extension Works, Political representative of the<br />

area and Catholic Relief Services representative.<br />
