Basketball <strong>is</strong> winding up th<strong>is</strong> week with our Senior Boys representing <strong>Dr</strong>. E. P. <strong>Scarlett</strong> at the Provincial<br />
Championships held here in Calgary. <strong>The</strong> team will play against Cards<strong>to</strong>n at <strong>Dr</strong>. E. P. <strong>Scarlett</strong> at 5:00 p.m. on<br />
Thursday, March 13 th . <strong>The</strong> <strong>Scarlett</strong> Lancers had an exciting bronze medal final against Western Canada. <strong>The</strong>y<br />
will represent Calgary in their 4 th place position. <strong>The</strong> team had a great <strong>to</strong>urnament season with a Bronze medal<br />
at the Pearson <strong>to</strong>urnament and a 4 th place fin<strong>is</strong>h in the Cards<strong>to</strong>n, Notre Dame, and Sir Wins<strong>to</strong>n Churchill<br />
<strong>to</strong>urnaments. <strong>The</strong> team fin<strong>is</strong>hed 2 nd in the south in league play.<br />
Spencer Foley <strong>is</strong> <strong>Dr</strong>. E. P. <strong>Scarlett</strong>’s nomination for the <strong>to</strong>p male student Laurie Robertson Basketball Award for<br />
the 2007-2008 season.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Lancers placed 5 th in Div<strong>is</strong>ion I in play-<strong>of</strong>fs. <strong>The</strong>y played in an exciting game for a provincial birth against<br />
Western Canada. <strong>The</strong> team’s <strong>to</strong>urnament play saw a silver medal win at the Lindsay Thurber Tournament and a<br />
Bronze medal win at the SAIT Tournament.<br />

crossover game against Bowness in quarterfinals winning by 17 points <strong>to</strong> secure a semifinal birth. <strong>The</strong>y had a<br />
tight fin<strong>is</strong>h against Churchill in the semifinals.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Junior Girls’ Basketball team had a stellar season fin<strong>is</strong>hing with a Silver Medal at the Div<strong>is</strong>ion I City<br />
Championship. <strong>The</strong> team demonstrated outstanding play upsetting Henry W<strong>is</strong>e Wood in the semifinal game.<br />
<strong>The</strong>ir <strong>to</strong>urnament results are amazing securing gold medals at Western Canada, B<strong>is</strong>hop Grandin, and the Lancer<br />
<strong>to</strong>urnament. <strong>The</strong>y had a bronze medal fin<strong>is</strong>h at the Harry Ainlay <strong>to</strong>urnament in Edmon<strong>to</strong>n. <strong>The</strong> team received<br />
numerous All Star and MVP awards at each <strong>to</strong>urnament in which they competed. <strong>The</strong> team’s only losses in<br />
regular season play <strong>to</strong>taled 4 points in all the games.<br />
