Residential is established as a transitional land use along the<br />
eastern boundary <strong>of</strong> these acreage communities. Single detached<br />
housing with lot sizes <strong>of</strong> comparable width and character are<br />
envisioned in maintaining the estate ambiance.<br />
Where existing lots front onto <strong>Windermere</strong> Drive, adjacent<br />
lots will also front on within<br />
the transitional area to<br />
ensure a similar<br />
streetscape. In other areas<br />
where an existing flanking<br />
or backing-on condition<br />
exists, new development<br />
lots in the transition area<br />
may flank or back on.<br />
These principles will be<br />
further refined through the<br />
NSP stage. The area,<br />
number <strong>of</strong> dwelling units<br />
and population attributed to LLR development is shown in<br />
Appendix 2.<br />
Low Density Residential (LDR)<br />
Consideration has been given to locating Low Density<br />
Residential (LDR), also referred to as Single/Semi-<br />
Detached, development in proximity to commercial<br />
services and business employment, Neighbourhood Parks,<br />
Community Knowledge Campuses, potential greenways,<br />
and storm water management facilities <strong>of</strong>fering superior<br />
amenity opportunities. Within the plan, low density<br />
residential housing forms will be predominantly single and<br />
semi-detached housing catering to a variety <strong>of</strong> lot and<br />
house sizes for a wide demographic population.<br />

accessible pedestrian environments that<br />
provide a sense <strong>of</strong> identity, community and<br />

Medium Density Residential (MDR)<br />
Medium or multi-family density housing provides affordable<br />
housing for a wide spectrum <strong>of</strong> the population from<br />
