The review of the Alternatives to Employment Program was finalised and its<br />
implementation commenced.<br />

Implement a new streamlined process for Autism assessments in regional<br />
areas.<br />
Develop and implement an enhanced Early Years and Consultancy Service<br />
Psychology Strategy in regional areas.<br />
Develop new strategies for providing specialist consultancy services (therapy,<br />
psychology and early intervention) in designated regional areas, in response to<br />
the impact of the resources boom.<br />
Implement a new Memorandum of Understanding between the <strong>Commission</strong> and<br />
the Department of Health’s WA Country Health Service to increase the level of<br />
collaboration between the two departments in regional areas.<br />
Implement Stage 2 of the Remote Area Strategy to ensure ongoing responsive,<br />
locally-based services for Indigenous people living in remote areas of Western<br />
Australia.<br />
Implement the new positive behaviour team for individuals living in the<br />
community.<br />
Develop an adult service focussing on people living independently in the<br />
community.<br />
Redevelop the Partnerships in Protection process to increase supports to<br />
vulnerable people.<br />
Consider and develop the <strong>Commission</strong>’s family support strategies and policy<br />
based on the findings of the Intensive Family Support Funding review and<br />
Sector Health Check recommendations.<br />
Review the first year of operation of the subsidy component of the Continence<br />
Management and Support Scheme to inform the next implementation phase.<br />
Continue to progress implementation of the outcomes-based approach to<br />
Alternatives to Employment services.<br />
Complete the redevelopment of <strong>Disability</strong> Professional Support <strong>Services</strong> in Early<br />
Childhood Intervention and regional school-based services.<br />
Implement a service access register across early childhood and school-age<br />
intervention in line with the new purchasing framework and development of a<br />
needs-based funding tool.<br />
Investigate the parameters and conduct an audit of the Community Aids and<br />
Equipment Program.<br />
Undertake promotional activities to ensure community understanding of the<br />
Community Aids and Equipment Program.<br />
Implement the recommendations of the review of <strong>Disability</strong> First Stop.<br />
