1.1 Executive Summary<br />

promoting the Getting <strong>Services</strong> Right information package for Aboriginal people<br />

with disabilities, their families and service providers across Western Australia;<br />

completing the first year of the <strong>Commission</strong>’s Substantive Equality Five Year<br />

Plan for people from Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse<br />

backgrounds;<br />

distributing grants through the Western Australian Local Government<br />

Association to local governments across the State to develop and implement<br />

You’re Welcome – Western Australian Access Strategy packages;<br />

continuing to raise community awareness on disability issues through the Count<br />

Us In campaign which included media advertising and a new website;<br />

distributing the Count Us In! curriculum support package to all WA schools. The<br />

package promotes disability awareness; and<br />

presenting the first report on <strong>Disability</strong> Access and Inclusion Plans (DAIP) to<br />

Parliament in December <strong>2006</strong>. Resources and training for DAIP were also<br />

developed and distributed.<br />
