Summary<br />

Graystar Corporation has petitioned the <strong>City</strong> for Street, Storm Sewer, Water, and Sanitary<br />

Sewer Improvements to an area containing 14 lots in the Graystar First Addition. Ruder<br />

Engineering and Surveying, L.L.C. has prepared a contract for engineering services to<br />

include engineering design, contractor solicitation, construction engineering, and<br />

warranty inspection. The contract is for a not-to-exceed amount <strong>of</strong> $76,900. Staff<br />

recommends that the commission authorize the Mayor to sign the Engineering Services<br />

Agreement with Ruder Engineering & Surveying, LLC for pr<strong>of</strong>essional services related<br />

to improvements in the Graystar First Addition in an amount not to exceed $76,900.<br />

Background<br />

The final plat for Graystar First Addition was approved at the April 22, 2010 <strong>City</strong><br />

Commission meeting. The developer wishes to proceed with design for potential construction<br />

during the 2010/2011 winter season.<br />

Discussion<br />

Graystar Corporation has petitioned the <strong>City</strong> for Street, Storm Sewer, Water, and Sanitary<br />

Sewer Improvements to an area containing 14 lots in the Graystar First Addition. The<br />

Developer will pay 30% <strong>of</strong> the costs for the construction with the remaining portion (70%) to<br />

be assessed to Lots 1-14 <strong>of</strong> the Graystar First Addition and two adjoining lots in the Westridge<br />

Addition. A resolution authorizing such improvements will be presented at the <strong>November</strong> 4,<br />

2010 work session.<br />

Ruder Engineering and Surveying, L.L.C. has prepared a contract for engineering services to<br />

include engineering design, contractor solicitation, construction engineering, and warranty<br />

inspection. The contract is for a not-to-exceed amount <strong>of</strong> $76,900.<br />
