8. Nourishment Station. This shall contain a sink equipped for handwashing,<br />

equipment for serving nourishment between scheduled and unscheduled<br />

meals, refrigerator, storage cabinets, and ice maker units to provide ice for<br />

patients' service and treatment. Ice for human consumption shall be from<br />

self-dispensing units. Hand washing stations shall be in or immediately<br />

accessible to the nourishment station;<br />

9. Equipment Storage Room. This shall be for equipment such as I.V.<br />

stands, inhalators, air mattresses, walkers and wheelchairs; and<br />

10. A comfortable and easily accessible sleep area for family members.<br />

C. A common kitchen area if provided shall contain a refrigerator, sink and<br />

microwave.<br />

D. Dining and/or gathering space for patients and families shall be provided as<br />

required by the narrative program.<br />

E. Airborne Infection Isolation Room(s). Rooms for patients who are suffering from<br />

airborne infections shall be provided at the rate of one for each 36 beds or<br />

fraction thereof.<br />
