Connectors
FCI announced an advanced series of power distribution
connectors for mobile communication applications.
The PwrBlade+ Series connectors combine high linear
current density and low power loss with ruggedness and
durability to deliver an ideal connector solution for truck
and trailer-based communications equipment. The
PwrBlade+ Series connectors feature high power contacts
with an optimized beam design that significantly increases
linear current density in a compact package. Contacts
are rated up to 75A without exceeding a 30°C temperature
rise in still air. The PwrBlade+ Series connectors
maintain a wide operating temperature range of -40ºC to
+125ºC, and its vented design maximizes heat dissipation
to deliver effective cooling to ensure high performance
even in the most extreme conditions.
MITEQ Inc. introduced the Model AMFW-6S-
12601520-90-WR62, a very low noise, high dynamic
range, weatherproof Ku-band waveguide front end, operating
from 12.65 GHz to 15.2 GHz. It Includes a pressure
sealed WR62 waveguide input and SMA (F) output. The
low-noise amplifier is lightweight with a small profile and
footprint. The aluminum alloy housing is sealed against
most severe environmental conditions. This LNA includes
reverse voltage, over current and over temperature protection
in addition to full internal regulation. Total
weight is approximately 270 grams, and dimensions are
2.1” x 1.31” x 1.31”. The AMFW-6S-12601520-90-WR62
has a typical noise temperature of 80K, with a maximum
of 90K, and it is capable of a minimum 10 dBm of P1dB
across the full band, with an available option of 20 dBm.
Richardson RFPD, Inc. announced immediate availability
and full design support capabilities for a new 1/2-
watt RF driver amplifier from Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI).
The ADL5324 incorporates a dynamically-adjustable
biasing circuit that allows for the customization of OIP3
and P1dB performance from 3.3 V to 5 V, without the need
for an external bias resistor. This versatile feature creates
the opportunity for dynamic biasing of the device where a
variable supply is used to allow for full 5 V biasing under
large signal conditions, and then reduced supply voltage
when signal levels are smaller and lower power consumption
is desirable.
