The route extends east, from A46 Kenilworth
Bypass, alongside the west and eastbound
carriageways of the A45 Stonebridge Highway
toward Stivichall Junction. The footpath / national
cycle route is then directed around the southwesterly
corner of the junction where it forms a
single route adjacent to the westbound
carriageway of the A45 Stonebridge Highway,
ending at Tollbar End roundabout.
A footpath and National Cycle Route also exists
adjacent to the eastbound carriageway of the A45
Stonebridge Highway between Stivichall Junction
and Tollbar End roundabout.
Runs south from Fernside Avenue / Leaf Lane
junction, across the northwest segment of
Stivichall Junction roundabout via an overbridge.
It passes through an underpass under the A45
Stonebridge Highway then splits into two routes,
either crossing the southwest segment of the
roundabout via an overbridge to continue south
alongside the A46 Kenilworth Bypass; or crossing
over the A46 (utilising the southern overbridge of
Stivichall Junction), then underneath the
southeast segment of Stivichall Junction
roundabout via an underpass to join the National
Cycle Route extending east along the A45
Stonebridge Highway.
2.1.1.3 A number of footpaths and cycleways are present in the vicinity of the
proposed Scheme. A series of footpath/cycle routes circumvent Tollbar End
roundabout, utilising a series of Toucan crossings across the individual
links/arms of the roundabout. Footway and cycleway routes run adjacent to
both the north and south sides of the A45 Stonebridge Highway, and lead
into those around Tollbar End roundabout.
2.1.1.4 Cycleways adjacent to the A45 Stonebridge Highway form a link between
the Stivichall and Finham areas to the west of the Scheme, and
Stonebridge Trading Estate and Middlemarch Business Park toward the
south-eastern end of the Scheme.
2.1.1.5 A signed footpath and cycleway runs between Rowley Road and the A45
Stonebridge Highway, to the west of the Tollbar End roundabout.
2.1.1.6 There are also a series of footpaths/cycleways navigating Stivichall
Junction, including two underpasses and overbridges linking Leaf Lane to
A46 Kenilworth Bypass South and A45 Stonebridge Highway. The
underpasses/overbridges also form part of the only bridleway within the
Study Area.
