Within the sectors (HS-2 digit), we have further delineated the comparative<br />
adv<strong>an</strong>tage in the world market <strong>for</strong> China at the commodity level (HS-6 digit). A total of<br />
1828 commodities are identified in this m<strong>an</strong>ner. Out of these, the maximum number of<br />
commodities where China holds comparative adv<strong>an</strong>tage in the world market are observed<br />
in the electrical <strong>an</strong>d electronic equipment with 129 commodities, closely followed by<br />
org<strong>an</strong>ic chemicals <strong>an</strong>d articles of apparel, not knit/crocheted with the number of<br />
commodities being 118 <strong>an</strong>d 111 respectively 7 . Sectors like articles of apparel,<br />
knit/crocheted <strong>an</strong>d inorg<strong>an</strong>ic chemicals also show signific<strong>an</strong>t presence in terms of<br />
number of commodities with comparative adv<strong>an</strong>tage in the world market. Articles of<br />
apparel knit/crocheted or not knit/crocheted (i.e. HS 61 <strong>an</strong>d 62) together contribute<br />
maximum number of commodities <strong>an</strong>d 11.2% share in the total comparative adv<strong>an</strong>tage<br />
identified <strong>for</strong> China in the world market.<br />
