7 Revealed Comparative Adv<strong>an</strong>tage According to Factor Intensity:<br />
M<strong>an</strong>ufacturing Sector<br />
In this section, comparative adv<strong>an</strong>tage has been <strong>an</strong>alyzed according to factor<br />
intensity. The <strong>an</strong>alysis has been undertaken <strong>for</strong> m<strong>an</strong>ufacturing sector in India <strong>an</strong>d China<br />
as in both the economies total exports are pre-domin<strong>an</strong>tly from the m<strong>an</strong>ufacturing sector.<br />
In 2003, 95 per cent of total Chinese exports comprised exports from the m<strong>an</strong>ufacturing<br />
sector while <strong>for</strong> India the sector’s share in its total exports was 88 per cent.<br />
7.1 Methodology<br />
The factor intensity <strong>an</strong>alysis has been undertaken using the SITC (Rev.3)<br />
classification. The SITC has been developed by the United Nations with the intention of<br />
classifying traded products not only on the basis of their material <strong>an</strong>d physical properties,<br />
