In addition to the MRCF as mentioned earlier, Scotland continues to provide significant support for the<br />
development and deployment of wave and tidal energy projects in Scotland. The four projects who<br />
receiving support through the £13 million WATERS are making good progress towards the completion of<br />
their projects, with many due for completion in early 2013<br />
WALES<br />
The main source for large funding in Wales, both revenue and capital, is via the Convergence &<br />
Competitiveness Fund administered by the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO) on behalf of the Welsh<br />
Government. The Welsh Government is in discussion with the EU Commission to consider a structural fund<br />
programme post 2013 and how it might support the sector.<br />
Relevant Legislation and Regulation<br />
In October <strong>2012</strong>, Marine Scotland published a licensing manual which is aimed at providing information<br />
on the planning regulations. This document is intended to provide developers with relevant information to<br />
progress their application for licences in an efficient and effective manner. A copy of the document can be<br />

The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) continue to facilitate dialogue between regulators,<br />
statutory consultees and industry.<br />
