Course Descriptions<br />
through the application of public health concepts to chosen<br />
research questions. Finished papers are presented orally in<br />
a seminar setting and kept in the department as reference<br />
documents; they may also be submitted for publication.<br />
VSGP 809<br />
Introduction to Veterinary Public Health<br />
Didactic material will be presented by the instructor with<br />
key examples of current and historic descriptive research<br />
articles in veterinary public health assigned to students<br />
with in-class discussions, led by students, to follow.<br />
<strong>St</strong>udents will be given two veterinary health problem sets<br />
and will work in teams of two to three to develop a plan<br />
to address the problem and then present their problem<br />
sets to fellow students for further discussion. <strong>St</strong>udents will<br />
select a veterinary public health problem within their area<br />
of interest and identify two to three key articles to present<br />
and discuss with fellow students. Oral presentations will be<br />
critiqued by students and instructors.<br />

Applied Veterinary Public Health<br />
The Applied Veterinary Public Health course will consist<br />
of didactic material, class discussions, and problem sets<br />
utilizing veterinary public health situations of current global<br />
or regional interest. <strong>St</strong>udents will work independently<br />
and collaboratively in researching veterinary public<br />
health problems and in developing solutions. <strong>St</strong>udents<br />
will present their finding and proposed solutions both in<br />
writing and in oral presentations.<br />
