Twenty ten marks the 20th anniversary of Sutter<br />
Home <strong>Wine</strong>ry’s Build a Better Burger ® Contest and<br />
Cook-Off, the most distinguished nationwide, instore<br />
marketing promotion and recipe contest. In<br />
celebration of its success, Sutter Home is launching<br />
the 2010 program with a 20th anniversary cookbook,<br />
innovative consumer social media and a<br />
$100,000 prize for America’s Best Burger.<br />
Drawing close to 10,000 recipe entries each year,<br />
Sutter Home’s Build a Better Burger Contest and<br />
Cook-Off h<strong>as</strong> become one of the longest-running<br />
cooking competitions in the country.<br />
Hitting the bookstores in March 2010 is the<br />
Burger Parties cook book (Ten Speed Press), written by Build a Better<br />
Burger Contest Head Judge James McNair and Sutter Home Executive<br />
Chef Jeffrey Starr. “We know how much people love burgers, so we<br />
wrote this cookbook to help them enjoy and experiment with big<br />
flavors that turn a b<strong>as</strong>ic burger into a gourmet fe<strong>as</strong>t,” said Starr, who<br />
h<strong>as</strong> seen thousands of enticing burger recipes. “The cookbook also<br />
celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Build a Better Burger Contest<br />
and Cookoff and highlights some of the deliciously creative burgers<br />
we’ve (judged) over the years.”<br />
The book features 16 themed party ide<strong>as</strong>, complete with appetizers,<br />
burger main courses, side dishes, desserts, wine-b<strong>as</strong>ed cocktails<br />
and wine pairings. It also includes Robert entertaining Craig tips for hosts and<br />
hostesses: table decorations, music suggestions and flower arrangements.<br />

hopefuls tips on how to submit a winning burger.<br />
Fans and followers of the cook-off will get up-to-theminute<br />
results on Facebook, Twitter and the Sutter<br />
Home blog <strong>as</strong> the burgers are being judged at the<br />
cook-off.<br />
Sutter Home’s Build a Better Burger Cook-off<br />
opened March 1 and will take entries through July<br />
31. The cook-off will take place on Saturday,<br />
September 25, 2010, at Sutter Home <strong>Wine</strong>ry and<br />
one contestant will win the $100,000 grand prize.<br />
