C. Teachers will teach test taking skills to students prior to the actual<br />

exam.<br />

D. In recognition of perfect attendance, the classroom teacher may:<br />

1. Drop the lowest test grade.<br />

2. Include attendance/participation as part of the class grade.<br />

GRADUATION CEREMONY<br />

A student must complete all graduation requirements established by the<br />

<strong>McDonald</strong> <strong>County</strong> R-1 School District before he/she is eligible to participate in<br />

the graduation program. The following guidelines have been established for<br />

graduation exercises at <strong>McDonald</strong> <strong>County</strong> High School:<br />

I. Appropriate behavior<br />

A. No use of illegal substances at or before graduation ceremonies.<br />

B. No possession or use of inappropriate paraphernalia, i.e. balloons,<br />

beach balls, confetti, etc. during the graduation ceremonies.<br />

However, they will be permitted on the football field immediately<br />

after the ceremonies have concluded.<br />

C. No possession or use of dangerous items AT ANY TIME, i.e.<br />

fireworks, etc.<br />

II. Appropriate attire<br />

A. Graduation Caps and Gowns are required.<br />

B. Nice dress shirts and/or blouses are expected as well as nice dress<br />

pants or dresses or skirts.<br />

C. Nice dress shoes, boots, dress sandals or clean tennis shoes.<br />

D. No inappropriate dress will be permitted such as swimsuits, overalls,<br />

shorts, cutoffs, sunglasses, etc.<br />

E. Nothing will be allowed to be worn on the outside of the caps or<br />

gowns.<br />

The <strong>McDonald</strong> <strong>County</strong> R-1 School District encourages each graduating<br />

class to participate in and enjoy the ceremonies. However, seniors must<br />

understand that these guidelines are for everyone and no exceptions will be<br />

made. If a student chooses not to follow the guidelines, the offender(s) will not<br />

be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremonies and/or your diploma<br />

may be held. Thank you for your cooperation and congratulations on all your<br />

accomplishments and successes.<br />
