a) Incentives for location of green businesses within city/county. (1 points)<br />

b) Offer special promotion for local eco-hotels. (1 points)<br />

APPROACH:<br />

Combine promotion of participation in the Florida Green Local Government Program with ecofriendly<br />

business incentives in order to attract sustainable industry or businesses that employ<br />

sustainable practices to the local area. Provide marketing incentives for local eco-hotels that<br />

have met the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Green Lodging Criteria.<br />

SUGGESTED DOCUMENTATION:<br />

Develop and submit documentation describing specific incentives available for establishment of<br />

businesses/non-profits that specialize in green building products, services, education, or<br />

outreach. Describe how local eco-hotels are given promotional incentives.<br />

BENEFIT:<br />

Establishing business incentives help attract sustainable businesses to the community that foster<br />

implementation and acceptance of green building, attract sustainably minded employees, and<br />

provide for community wide economic and environmental benefits.<br />

a) Incentives for green redevelopment. (2 points)<br />

APPROACH:<br />

Either through the creation of redevelopment agencies or otherwise, create and offer incentives<br />

(tax based, building based, land based, etc) for redevelopment of distressed areas via green<br />

development.<br />

SUGGESTED DOCUMENTATION:<br />

Provide copy of proposed incentives, management plan, and baseline requirements for eligibility.<br />
