APPROACH:<br />
Monitor participation rates for residential and commercial recycling and develop a strategy to<br />
increase participation. Monitor types and amounts of material entering landfill and develop<br />
programs to identify areas where minimization improvements are needed.<br />
SUGGESTED DOCUMENTATION:<br />
a) Submit recycling schedule and types of bins used / commodities recycled.<br />
b) Explain strategy for monitoring material entering landfill and include some data.<br />
BENEFIT:<br />
Curbside recycling may enhance recycling participation. By monitoring types and amounts of<br />
material entering landfill, it can be used as an indicator to help decide where to target solid waste<br />
reduction efforts.<br />
