ACTIVITY:<br />
a) Involve students in green projects within the school. (2 points)<br />
b) Involve students in green projects outside the school. (2 points)<br />
APPROACH:<br />
Students are exposed to green building through lesson plans such as by taking part in the<br />
Alliance to Save Energy Green Schools program or curricula developed by the Florida Solar<br />
Energy Center. Students can also be exposed to green building outside of lesson plans through<br />
field trips to green local government features and involvement in projects that enable school<br />
grounds to be certified by state and national programs.<br />
SUGGESTED DOCUMENTATION:<br />
Submit details of projects, either in-house, external, or both, which engage students in green<br />
building education.<br />
BENEFIT:<br />
Green building education can fulfill part of the requirements for science curriculums.<br />

APPROACH:<br />
School Board offers incentives for teachers who choose environmentally based learning<br />
opportunities/projects during the summer season.<br />
SUGGESTED DOCUMENTATION:<br />
Submit details of coursework offered to staff, and incentives for completing such coursework.<br />
BENEFIT:<br />
Incentive based summer learning opportunities are an effective way to bring environmental<br />
curricula into the classroom.<br />
