a) Utilize alternative fuel for school busses. (2 points)<br />
APPROACH:<br />
School bus fleet operates on an alternative fuel such as CNG or biodiesel.<br />
SUGGESTED DOCUMENTATION:<br />
Submit details of fuel type used, source of fuel, refueling stations, and appropriate training of<br />
mechanics.<br />
BENEFIT:<br />
Alternative fuels generate significantly less gas and particulate emissions than diesel.<br />

Credit 2: Preserve / enhance habitat<br />
ACTIVITY:<br />
a) School grounds certified by environmental program. (1-5 points)<br />
APPROACH:<br />
Seek certification of individual school grounds by state or national programs such as those<br />
offered from Audubon International, Florida Yards & Neighborhoods, National Wildlife<br />
Federation, etc. Receive one point for each 20% of school grounds certified.<br />
SUGGESTED DOCUMENTATION:<br />
Submit certification or application for certification materials.<br />
BENEFIT:<br />
Organized programs provide well defined goals, strategies to achieve those goals, and offer an<br />
incentive to follow through with the entire program.<br />
