Vetsearch would like to announce that the Get

by Allan Brown. It was completed just before his

Everyday Performance Food For Greyhounds
Having been involved in greyhounds for over twenty years, with the
past seven of those as a professional trainer. I've found that
greyhounds need consistency in their diet. With a lot of the big name
brands of kibble rising in price. We were losing a lot of kibble that had

SHE'S 18 and just loves greyhounds.
She's Anita Watts who is chasing her
passion for the most lovable dog in the
world by taking up a position as kennel
assistant with the Rob Essex kennel at
Park Ridge.
While that might not be unique, what
is different is that Anita hails from
Wynyard on the northern coast of
Tasmania.
Essex explains that he owns a home in
Launceston and has been travelling there
for the past 20 years for a holiday and to
race a small team of dogs.
But that team has swelled recently
with the number of pups Essex is
breaking in rising to 27.
"It has all got too much and I needed
someone to help me," said Robert.
"When in Launceston on a recent
trip, I happened to mention to Russell
Watts who I have known for years, that I
was looking for someone to help in my
kennels."
Russell always has five dogs in work
at his Wynyard kennels.
"Russell suggested that his daughter
Anita might be interested in taking on
the job," said Robert.
Anita jumped at the chance.
"We have a flat at home where Anita
has settled into well and she's certainly
getting no time to feel homesick.
"We trial up our straight track five
days a week, and with all the pups to
break in and the dogs we have racing,
she's been pretty busy."
Anita is loving it.
"Dad has had dogs all my life and I'm
definitely enjoying the work in
Queensland," he said.
She hasn't had much time to see the
sights, apart from racetracks and trial
tracks, but that will come.
Robert says young people need to be
encouraged into the greyhound industry.
