Heading overseas? As from July 1, 2004, all greyhounds exported must have a Greyhound Passport. To obtain one, you must apply to Greyhounds Australasia. Application forms can be accessed at www.galtd.org.au or by phoning (03) 95483500. Race on Thursday night. Ph: 07 47721742. CENTRALISED PRIZEMONEY The GRA has assumed the responsibility for payment of prizemoney on behalf of all clubs in Queensland. The method is by electronic funds transfer only to a nominated bank account. Prizemoney is paid to the trainer acting as agent for the owner, unless the owner specifically requests in writing to the GRA that prizemoney is paid to him/her. Kennel information for greyhounds leaving or entering kennels is compulsory and facilitates the payment of prizemoney to the correct person. Prizemoney payments up to $5000 will be made on the Monday of GRA Notices each week for the preceding week’s racing (Monday to Sunday) regardless of whether the greyhound has been swabbed. If a greyhound has been swabbed and prizemoney is $5000 or more the payment will be made once the swab has been cleared. For all payments either a Recipient Created Tax Invoice or an Invoice/ Statement will be mailed detailing date, track, greyhound’s name and amount deposited. VACCINATION BOOSTER Compulsory from 1 July 2003 Vaccination/Booster notification - refer Greyhound Racing Authority (Queensland) General Rule 88 (a)(i)(ii). As from 1 July 2003 for greyhounds to be eligible to nominate to race in Queensland the following requirement applies: Greyhounds whelped on or after 1 April 2001. Greyhounds over the age of 12 months require proof of vaccination with at least a C3 vaccination being administered over the age of 12 months. And/or Greyhounds having first Queensland start require proof of vaccination with at least a C3 vaccination being administered over the age of 12 months. Proof of vaccination to be provided prior to nomination: Proof may be in the form of the greyhound’s vaccination record book or a certificate of vaccination signed by a registered Veterinarian. Record book and/or certificate must show greyhound’s ear brand, colour, sex, whelping date and vaccine sticker or type of vaccine and vaccination date. Trainer/owner kennelling details must be lodged with the GRA prior to nomination. Rule 58 (c)(v) Veterinary certification (for litters registered in Queensland in such form as prescribed by the Board, in a form acceptable to the Board) of an inoculation of the litter of at least a C3 (and such other inoculations as the Board may prescribe from time to time) having been administered to the litter between the ages of 8 to 12 weeks. Drug Alert - Poppy Seeds Evidence taken at recent inquiries and appeals has indicated the possibility that ingestion of poppy seeds may lead to urine samples taken from racing greyhounds showing the presence of the drugs morphine and/ or codeine. Licensed persons are therefore advised in the strongest possible terms to eliminate poppy seeds from the diet of racing greyhounds. Poppy seeds may not only be present in certain brands of bread but may also be present in a varietuy of bakery products. All dogs to be benched between 11 am and 11.45 am and after judging must be removed no later than 5 pm. Entrance to the Dog Pavilion through the Symes Street entrance off St Paul's Terrace. Subject to the Royal National Agricultural and Industrial Association of Queensland Act 1971, and to the Constitution, Rules and By-Laws of the Association the following Regulations shall apply. REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO GREYHOUND STAKES 1 Judging will start at approximately 12 noon. 2 If any Exhibitor is not present when called for any class or award the judging will proceed in his or her absence, and the exhibit declared absent. 4 Any dog entered for the competition and present at the Show may not be withdrawn from the competition without the consent of the Councillor or Honorary Council Steward. 5 All dogs must be removed from the pavilion 30 minutes after approval has been granted to leave the leave the pavilion on any day of judging. 6 Kennel signs will be limited to a maximum of 60cm x 30cm displaying the name of the kennels and of exhibit. No other material may be displayed without the written consent of the RNA. 7 Should any question arise for which no specific guidance is provided, the matter shall be referred to the Councillor or Honorary Council Steward whose decision on the matter shall be final. 8 All dogs must be securely benched. Not more than one exhibit may occupy any one bench without the permission of the Steward. A dog may not be placed on the bench so as to impair the view of the public, and no objects that will affect the view of the public may be added to the bench. Trolleys must not be used in lieu of a dog's allocated bench. 9 No dogs will be removed from the benches other than to be exercised or shown at any time without the authority of the Councillor or Honorary Council Steward. 10 It is an offence for any person to remove or alter the location or number of any exhibit from the benches allocated. 12 Prize sashes will be awarded in Stake Classes for first, second and third prizes. 16 Any exhibit incorrectly nominated on the Application to Enter form by an Exhibitor may be declared ineligible.
