Approved Supplier Categories
Each approved supplier in the SLOAN supplier community will be classified as either “Non-Certified”
or “Certified”.
1. Certified Supplier
A certified supplier is one who supplies material of such quality that it is not necessary to
perform routine testing on each lot received. Certified suppliers have met or exceed all of
SLOAN’s quality program requirements as stated in this manual, have consistently achieved a
90% level or better (“Green” status) on the Supplier Performance Metrics and comply with the
following criteria:
Having no product related lot rejections for at least one calendar year.
Having no non-product related rejections for at least six consecutive months.
Having no production-related negative incidents for at least six consecutive months.
Having successfully passed a recent on-site quality system evaluation.
Having a totally agreed on specifications.
Having a fully documented process and quality system.
Having the ability to furnish timely copies of certificates of analysis, inspection data, and test
results.
Having a process that is stable and demonstrated as being in control.
2. Non-Certified Supplier
A non-certified supplier is one who is a potential future certified supplier, but has not been
supplying long enough to have a history of good performance or does not meet all of the
requirements to become a certified supplier at the time.
