Interior Design & Decorating Certificate Program<br />

This certificate program will prepare you with the fundamental skills and terminology to<br />

enter the field of interior design and decorating. Develop a solid foundation in computer<br />

drafting, evaluating business needs, design history, and the relationship between design,<br />

human performance, materials and the environment. To receive IDD certification, you must<br />

complete the 12 classes. Individual classes are open to those interested.<br />

Drafting/modeling skills are not a requirement for this certificate program, but strongly<br />

recommended. These skills are useful for employment in the field. See page 21 for AutoCAD<br />

classes. Upon successful completion of all modules, qualified students will get to participate in an<br />

unpaid 4-week internship with PYW Interiors, Miller Place.<br />

Interior Design & Decorating I<br />

Gain valuable insight into the design industry as<br />

you learn basic drafting, space planning, traffic<br />

flow, color theory and design concepts. Students<br />

must purchase supplies (approx $100) after the<br />

first class session to complete course project<br />

and other courses in this certificate program.<br />
