The study of the human body and its<br />
systems is the first course in any Health<br />
Careers program. Careers in nursing,<br />
physical therapy, surgical technology,<br />
medical assisting, sports rehabilitation<br />
and personal training are a few careers<br />
that require a solid understanding of the<br />
human body. College level Anatomy and<br />
Physiology encompasses a vast body of<br />
knowledge causing many students to be<br />
overwhelmed and easily discouraged.<br />
This course offers an introduction to the<br />
human body, provides an understanding of<br />
body systems and lays the foundation for<br />
more detailed anatomy courses. Strongly<br />
recommended for anyone considering<br />

Math for Health Careers<br />
If you are considering any career in health<br />
care, this course is a must because good<br />
math skills are essential for calculating<br />
medication dosages. We will move from<br />
addition, subtraction, division, and<br />
multiplication to fractions, ratios, and<br />
proportions. Learn the systems used in<br />
measuring doses of medication and then<br />
learn to solve common dosage problems<br />
and complete temperature conversions.<br />
Practice using military time, a medical<br />

In less than five months you can prepare for a pivotal position in health care by learning<br />
the standard procedures hospitals use to admit patients from intake to patient assignment.<br />

Health Care Proxy. Gain an understanding<br />
of medical ethics as well as interviewing<br />
skills.<br />

medications, and the role of exercise and<br />
