There have been many fundraisers and
occasions over the past couple of months,
at Sydenham Campus. This year
Copperfield College is participating in the
Woolworths ‘Earn & Learn’ program; the
collection box for the stickers you collect is
located at the general office.
We have collected Red SIDS bags filled
with unwanted clothing. SIDS uses these
items to fundraise with all profits going to
Cot Death Research.
On the last day of Term 1, (Thursday 28th
March) we held a Casual Clothes Day for
the Good Friday Appeal. As a campus, we
raised over $600!
The National Day of Action against Bulling
was held on the 15th of March and to
honour the day, SRC members gave out
orange icy-poles and wristbands to
students. Many of the students were happy
about this event and understand the
significance of this day.
Many of you may know that on the 8th of
March, it was International Women’s Day.
LOTE News
Copperfield College welcomes Massimo Noviello,
our new Italian language assistant. Massimo is from a
Naples and a recent graduate from Ca Foscari
University in Venice. He joins the Italian staff till the
end of the year. Massimo will be working with small
groups of students and helping them with their
conversation skills whilst also helping the Italian staff
with the preparation of new teaching material. We are
very fortunate to have Massimo on staff this year as
there are only 27 Italian assistants available state wide
and Copperfield's application was one of the
successful ones!

Personal Goods
Brought to School at
Owner's Risk
Personal property is often brought to
school by students, staff and visitors.
This can include mobile phones,
electronic games, calculators, toys,
sporting equipment and cars parked
on school premises. The Department
does not hold insurance for personal
property brought to schools and it
has no capacity to pay for any loss or
damage to such property.
SRC News
During home group, purple and green
ribbons were passed to all girls, which
many of us proudly wore representing the
integrity of all the hard working women
around the world.
Most recently, five members of the SRC
have been nominated to represent
Copperfield College at the 2013 Western
Metro Regional Student Conference at
Braybrook College. This is an interactive
program which lets students discuss issues,
share information, and learn from students
from different schools about what their
SRC is doing right and how we can
improve.
So far this year has been very successful in
fundraising and raising awareness. The
SRC are excited to announce more events
this year!

Reminder: Picking Up
Siblings from Sydenham
Primary.
Students are reminded that if they are
picking up a younger child or siblings
from the primary school they are
required to wait on our grounds until
the Primary school bells goes at 3:30
before entering the grounds. Under no
circumstance should Copperfield
College students wait outside their
siblings’ classrooms.
Student Accident
Insurance
Parents / guardians are reminded that
the Department does not provide
personal accident insurance for
students. Parents and guardians are
responsible for paying the cost of
medical treatment for injured students,
including any transport costs.
Student accident insurance policies are
available from some commercial
insurers. These cover a range of
medical expenses not covered by
Medicare or private health insurance.
Payments to the College
A reminder if you wish to pay your
subject charges or excursion costs, you
can phone any of the campus offices
and simply provide your credit card
details.
Other methods of payment are by cash,
cheque, EFTPOS and now BPay Please
call any campus office to obtain your
reference number.

Student Attendance
/ Absence
The Sydenham Campus has introduced
a Student Attendance/Absence message
hot line. If your child is going to be
absent for any reason, Parents/Carers
should phone Lorraine on 9361 3891
and leave a message with your child’s
name, home group, reason and dates of
absence.
Regular attendance is essential to
make sure that your child’s learning
is not disrupted.
Student Illness
A reminder to parents and students that
phone calls home regarding student
illness at school must come through the
General Office. Staff in the General
Office are first-aid trained.
Students should not be using mobile
phones to contact parents if they need
to be picked up from school.
