He married firstly Sarah Elizabeth Beck circa 1914 and secondly Feadore Munro. William attended ... University and served as a soldier, retiring with the rank of Major after winning the Military Cross. He served as secretary to the Board of Agriculture. He died on the 2nd of March, 1965, and is buried in the Douglas Borough Cemetery. 1.22.1.1 Sarah Elizabeth Beck was born on the 19th of March, 1873, the daughter of William Beck & Eleanor Kelly, who married on the 21st of October, 1863, at Braddan. In 1881 she was living with her parents at 3, Auckland Grove, Douglas. In 1891 she was living with parents at 11, Dalton Street, Douglas. She married William Henry Cain circa 1914. She died on the 20th of February, 1959, and is buried in the Douglas Borough Cemetery. 1.22.1.2 Feadore Munro was born circa 1902, probably in Ireland. She married firstly William Thomas Quilliam and secondly William Henry Cain. She died in 1968 and was buried on the 5th of June at the Douglas Borough Cemetery. 1.22.1.3 William Thomas Quilliam was born in January/February of 1891. His age was given as 2 months at the census of that year when he was living with his parents William Quilliam (29, a stone mason) and Mary Jane, 27, at 2, Muckle Gate, Douglas. He married Feadore Munro circa 1930. He died on the 30th of January, 1943, aged 52, and is buried with Feadore. 1.22.2 Eleanor Jane Corkish (6832) was born on the 31st of October, 1892, at 46 Edward Terrace, Finch Road, Douglas. She married George Forbes Simpson on the 13th of June, 1941, at St. George, Douglas. She died on the 15th of January, 1991, at White Hoe Hospital, Braddan. There were no issue of the marriage. 1.22.2.1 George Forbes Simpson was born on the 1st of January, 1885, at Liverpool. A marine engineer, he married Eleanor Jane Corkish on the 13th of June, 1941, at St. George, Douglas. He died on the 10th of December, 1953, and is buried in the Douglas Borough Cemetery. 1.22.3 John Stanley Corkish (6833) was born on the 3rd of November, 1894, at 2, St. Georges Terrace, Douglas. He emigrated to Brandon, Manitoba, circa 1920 where he married Clara Beatrice Magee on the 24th of September, 1926, at First United Church, Brandon. Family History, Volume IV Corkish - Direct 1 - 19 1.22.3.1 Clara Beatrice Magee was born on the 5th of October, 1894, at Kemnay, Manitoba, the daughter of frank Magee and Selina Scott. She married John Stanley Corkish on the 24th of September, 1926, at First United Church, Brandon. She died on the 15th of October, 1965. 1.22.4 Thomas Albert Corkish (6834) was born on the 7th of August, 1897, at 2, St. Georges Terrace, Douglas. He married Annie May Quiggin on the 1st of June, 1921, at St. George, Douglas. He was a member of the Keys from 1958 to 1971, Mayor of Douglas 1962–4 and Alderman 1965. He was awarded the Freedom of the Borough in 1975. He was the Head Postmaster and a Justice of the Peace. He died on the 23rd of March, 1979, at Nobles Hospital. His ashes were scattered in the Garden of Remembrance at the Borough Cemetery. See 1.24 for details of his descendants. 1.22.4.1 Annie May Quiggin was born on the 24th of March, 1900, at 63, Circular Road, Douglas, the daughter of William Francis Quiggin and Margaret Ann Cain. She married Thomas Albert Corkish on the 1st of June, 1921, at St. George, Douglas. 1.22.5 Frederick Cain Corkish (6835) was born on the 10th of January, 1901. A motor mechanic, he married Catherine Isobel Daugherty on the 4th of June, 1925, at Braddan. He died on the 2nd of August, 1951, and was buried at Braddan. See 1.25 for details of his descendants. See 1.25 for details of his decendants. 1.22.5.1 Catherine Isobel Daugherty was born on the 11th of August, 1904, at 37, Hope Street, Douglas, the daughter of Thomas Fletcher Daugherty, a printer, and Isabella McIntosh Lowey. She married Frederick Cain Corkish on 4th of June, 1925, at Braddan. She died on the 24th of July, 1989. 1.22.6 Katherine Aimee Corkish (6836) was born on the 8th April, 1903, at 32, Allan St. She married Albert Edward Cringle circa 1920. She died on the 26th of May, 1985, at White Hoe Hospital and her ashes were buried in the Garden of Remembrance, Douglas Borough Cemetery. See 1.26 for details of her descendants. 1.22.6.1 Albert Edward Cringle was born on the 31st of March, 1902, at 11, Allan Street, the son of Louis Cringle and Eleanor Gell. He married Katherine Aimee Corkish circa 1920. He died on the 6th of January, 1984, and his ashes were buried in the Garden of Remembrance, Douglas Borough Cemetery. 1.22.7 Elsie Mona Corkish (6837) was born on the 15th of July, 1905, at 32, Allan Street. She did not survive infancy and died on the 21st of October, 1905. 1.22.8 Robert Sydney Corkish(6838) was born on the 14th of September, 1907, at 32, Allan Street, Douglas. He married Dorothy Elsie Mc Mullin on the 25th of February, 1960, at St. Mary (R.C.), Douglas. He died on the 25th of December, 1985 at 12, Lower Duke’s Road, Douglas. 1.22.8.1 Dorothy Elsie Mc Mullin was born on the 6th of January, 1906, at 10, Albert Street, Douglas, the daughter of William Mc Mullin and Clara Edwards. She died on the 9th of February, 1998. 1.22.9 Sarah Dorothy Corkish (6839) was born on the 25th of February, 1910, at 26, Princess Street, Douglas. She married Leslie Ardern on the 31st of August, 1930, at Braddan. She died on the 8th of January, 1933, at Noble’s Hospital, and was buried at Braddan. 1.22.9.1 Leslie Ardern was born in 1906, the son of Joseph Ardern. 1.22.10 Kathleen Bessie Corkish (6840) was born on the 3rd of February, 1914, at 26, Princess Street, Douglas.
