He died aged twenty-six years at Castletown and was buried on the 10th of August, 1836, at Arbory. 1.32.2 Catherine Woods (2088) was baptized on the 11th of November, 1812, at Rushen. No further details are available. 1.32.3 Ann Woods (2089) was baptized on the 21st of May, 1815, at Arbory. No further details are available. Possible marriage to William Corrin on the 15th of April, 1838, at Malew. 1.32.4 Mary Woods (2090) was baptized on the 9th of November, 1817, at Arbory. She married William Scarffe (see Volume V, 9.2.2) on the 10th of October, 1835, at Lonan. She was buried at Braddan on the 27th of April, 1886, when her age was recorded as 67 years. See Volume V, 9.4 for details of her descendants. 1.32.5 John Woods (2091) was baptized on the 6th of September, 1820, at Arbory. He did not survive childhood and was buried on the 19th of January, 1821, at Arbory. 1.32.6 William Woods (2092) was baptized on the 15th of April, 1822, at Arbory. In 1841 he was living in Queen Hithe Street, Castletown, at the house of Thomas Clague, with his widowed mother. By 1851, a sailor, he was living at 6, Queen Hithe Street, with his wife, Sarah (from Ireland) and two young daughters: Ann aged 2 years and Jane aged 4 months (no marriage or Baptismal records found). 1.33 The Children of John Corkish & Ann Cooil continued from 1.9.7 Number &Name Type & Birthdate Place/Notes 2093 John B 14th Jan 1810 Rushen 2094 Jane B 24th Nov 1811 Rushen 2086 Ann B 8th Apr 1814 Rushen 1.33.1 John Corkish (2093) was baptized on the 14th of January, 1810, at Rushen. He married Eleanor Bridson on the 13th of May, 1834, at Malew. He died before the census of 1871. See 1.34 for details of his descendants. In 1841–51 he was a miner living at Baroole. In 1861 he and his family were living at Granite Quarry House, Malew. 1.33.1.1 Eleanor Bridson (2310) was born circa 1810. She married John Corkish on the 13th of May, 1834, at Malew. Family History, Volume IV Corkish - Direct 1 - 25 1.33.1.1.1 A widow in 1871 she was living with her widowed sister, Esther Dobson (bc 1813), at Castletown Road, Patrick. It would appear that their father was William Bridson but it not yet been determined if the mother was Esther Kewly or Ellinor Radcliffe. 1.33.2 Jane Corkish (2094) was baptized on the 24th of November, 1811, at Rushen. She married William Collister on the 13th of August, 1840, at Rushen. There was at least one son of the marriage, John (3573) who was baptized on the 13th of December, 1840, at Rushen and was living with his grandparents at the census of 1841. Neither Jane or William have been found in the 1841 or any subsequent census. 1.33.2.1 William Collister (3572) was born circa 1811. He married Jane Corkish on the 13th of August, 1840, at Rushen. 1.33.3 Ann Corkish (2086) was baptized on the 8th of April, 1814, at Rushen. She was living with her parents in 1841. He married Eleanor Cowell on the 2nd of May, 1856, at Malew. He was buried at Foxdale on the 23rd of December, 1886, aged 55. See 1.35 for details of his descendants. In 1851 he was a labourer at the lead mines. In 1861 he and his family were living on the Abbey Common at St. Marks. In 1871 the family was living at Stoney Mountain Cottage, Malew. In 1881 the family was living at 3, Stoney Road, Foxdale. 1.34.1.1 Eleanor Cowell (2321) was born circa 1837, at Patrick, the daughter of William Cowle and Christian Cain/Cleater. She married Robert Corkish on the 2nd of May, 1856, at Malew. She was buried at Foxdale on the 21st of April, 1922, when her age was recorded as 84 years. 1.34.1.1.1 The family lived in Foxdale where Robert was employed in the mines. In 1891 she was a widow living on her own means at Foxdale with two of her unmarried children, Edmund and Mary Jane. in 1901 she was living at Stoney Mountain Road, Malew, with her unmarried son Philip. 1.34.2 Henry Corkish (2311) was baptized on the 17th of August, 1834, at Malew. He was living with his parents in 1841. In 1851 he was working on the farm of Thomas Gelling at Ballanicholas, Marown. He has not been found in the 1861 census. 1.34.3 Ann Corkish (2312) was baptized on the 5th of March, 1837, at St. Marks, Malew. Not found in the 1841 census. No further details are available. 1.34.4 John Corkish (2313) was baptized on the 7th of April, 1839, at St. Marks, Malew.
