6.3.2 Our framework for quality assurance and service improvement is both
reflective and pro active. By examining past service delivery against
good practice standards and considering service users’ views about the
services they have received we can measure the impact and quality of
service delivery.
6.3.3 We have developed a number of practice evaluation tools (known as QAF
tools), to help managers assess the quality of core social work processes.
Examples of some of the tools in our QAF toolkit are: assessments,
planning, reviewing and there are also tools to support direct observations
of staff in practice. These tools were developed in partnership with
practitioners and managers and aim to establish clear standards of good
practice against which core social work practice can be assessed.
6.3.4 Our key performance indicators and a number of agreed local indicators
are captured in our monthly Local Performance Information Report (LPIR).
These are reviewed by the extended CSCMT management group every
month.
6.3.5 The quality assurance framework and toolkit and LPIR will be used to
quality assure the work undertaken as part of this plan and assess levels
of improvement in the outcomes of children looked after and care leavers.
