Dr. Ashish from Patna and two of our own
physiotherapists – along with our lady medical
assistant.
Our ring-well's progress is slow as the diggers are
facing problems in cracking the lime stones. The
workers have stopped blasting and now they have
started making concrete rings to be fitted into the
well. The shed over the Hospital Generator is
coming up gradually.
On 22 May, Panneer went to Tata to attend a
meeting called by CLD from Delhi. Vijay went to
Samlong Parish, Ranchi, to attend the Silver Jubilee
of Sr. Agnela, MC.
We, along with Sisters of the Nirmala Hospital
Community have finished the rounds of Marian
Devotions praying the rosary in different houses in
Amda and Janumbera village.
21 young men of St. Paul's Seminary, Akhalpur of
Jammu-Srinagar Diocese made their annual retreat
under my guidance. This is the fifth time I am giving a
retreat in St. Paul's Seminary. There is a dearth of
retreat directors in this part of the world.
On behalf of the Central Zone consisting of five
provinces of Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dumka,
Hazaribagh and M.P., Fr. Christopher Lakra and Fr.
James Toppo of Ranchi Province, visited
Jammu–Kashmir state to explore various
possibilities of Jesuit involvement in the Mission of
the Church in J&K and H.P., the two states which do
not come under any Jesuit Province. They called
me also to Jammu to help them in their mission. Fr.
Benjamin Lakra took them to different places for
about ten days. Their visits to different places have
generated lot of hope in the local church. Bishop
Peter Celestine of Jammu-Srinagar Diocese very
gratefully remembered the great work done by
humble Jesuits like Eric Cassel! (Praise the Lord) in
J&K. He continues to hope that the Jesuits will not
disappoint the diocese.
mother Province Karnal as she has completed her
three year contract with us. LCE is thankful to her for
her services and wishes her the very best in her
future ministry.
From the stroke he suffered, Hilary has made a
remarkable and spectacular improvement from
ground zero. He attributes his recovery to the prayer
of his well wishers. As everything went on well, he
developed urinary and stool problems and,
therefore, was readmitted to TMH for a battery of
tests and pathological investigations.
From 4 to 6 May, Kuru and Tony along with the
faculty members interviewed 200 shortlisted
candidates for 2013-14 Batch as to select 100
prospective candidates for this professional course.
The exercise, certainly, was tedious and tiring; but,
worth doing. On 7 May, a panel consisting of Tony
Uvari, Kuru and Tony P interviewed 7 prospective
teachers for vacant seats.
Tony P went to Kolkata to have a check-up before
he takes up classes in IGNOU programme. Kuru
spearheaded a workshop for the second year
IGNOU B.Ed. students from 13 and will end by 24
May and then it will be turn of the first year IGNOU to
attend similar workshop from 25 to 5 June.
Meanwhile, Tony P got the auditing finished for
2012-13 financial year. While Kuru found time to
attend the Province Assembly, Tony P attended PA
2013 and the Province Retreat at XLRI. On 27 May,
Kuru flew to New Delhi for a hearing of the NCTE on
our case of appeal for additional intake of students in
the B.Ed. course.
LOYOLA NIWAS, JAMSHEDOUR
After spending a decade in the 'wild' building up
Chaira and Rerua, Wally Kongari moved to the
heart of the Steel City – RERUA to CURIA. While
heading the office of PDD, he is also acting Superior
of Loyola Niwas. 'Hi!' “Wally” and, in the same
breath, we bade 'bye' to outgoing Superior, Joe
LCE
The community saw Fr. Anthres TOR, our guest
B.Ed. student for a year, bidding adieu as he
completed his B.Ed. course. Sunny celebrated his
birthday on 3 and left for his land of promise in
Dhanbad on 4 May. The Community is thankful to
their assistance in taking up Mass at Jeevan Jyoti,
Little Flower Convent and Aruppe Bhavan with
utmost generosity and willingness.
On 16 May, Sr. Ophelia BS, Superintendent of
Aruppe Bhavan, bid adieu and returned to her
