Student Rebecca Standing has become the University of Kent at Medway’s first sports scholar and
will receive a scholarship of £1,000 for each year of study. As well as being an accomplished
‘This is the first time we have offered the Canterbury Ladies Hockey Club Scholarship and I am
very pleased with our close working relationship with the Club’, said Mike Wilkins, Director of
Sport. ‘I am also delighted for Natalie. She is an outstanding prospect who has just come back
from playing for the England under-21s in the Junior World Cup in Chile where she competed
against the USA, Holland, Spain, Australia and Chile in front of large crowds. Natalie is only 18
years old and to be in Canterbury’s excellent first team and in the England under-21 team shows
just what an outstanding player she is.’
