Currently, Chonnam University Hwasun<br />
Hospital uses navigational methods and<br />
Robodoc when performing nearthrosis<br />
surgery and MIS. Just like those used in a<br />
car, surgical navigation helps to find the<br />
best possible path or direction for a more<br />
precise and accurate operation.<br />
Among the only three commercial surgical<br />
robots approved by the FDA, Robodoc is<br />
owned by a <strong>Korea</strong>n company, Curexo<br />
(http://www.curexo.com), and is the only<br />
nearthrosis surgery robot in the world.<br />
As the General Director of Chonnam<br />
National University Hwasun Hospital and<br />
the 2012 president of CAOS International,<br />
Dr. Song Eun-kyoo has been planning to<br />
promote the advantage and effects of computer<br />
based surgery in order to further improve<br />
orthopedics. Dr. Song expressed this<br />
by stating “I believe such efforts will contribute<br />
to <strong>Korea</strong>n orthopedics. During my<br />
one-year tenure in 2012, I will do my best to<br />
improve this field in <strong>Korea</strong>."<br />
