WHAT IS AN ADULT EDUCATIONIST AND WHY THEY NEED TO BE PROFESSIONAL? Arūnas Bėkšta Summary Usually three types of agents (stakeholders) are associated with adult education: professionals, employers and training providers. Analysis shows that division of adult education actors into three abovementioned categories is too limited. Adult education professionals and adult education has relations with much bigger number of agents (stakeholders) including representatives from culture, social, education spheres and business world and others. Relationships with those agents requite expansion of adult education professionals’ managerial competences such as public relations and communication, public policy analysis and lobbying and others. It is very important for the development of adult education system that other agents have necessary understanding about necessity of adult education, of its functioning and of its financing. Responsibility for andragogical “professionalization” of other agents lies on adult education professionals. KEYWORDS: agents, stakeholders, andragogy, competences. ANDRAGOGO ASMENINIO EFEKTYVUMO PLĖTOJIMO ASPEKTAI Ilona Zubrickienė, Jūratė Adomaitienė ANOTACIJA Straipsnyje analizuojamas andragogo asmeninis efektyvumas, kuris plėtojamas andragoginėje veikloje. Akcentuojama, jog mokslinėje literatūroje asmeninio efektyvumo samprata nėra vienodai interpretuojama, dažnai prilyginama asmeniniam tobulėjimui, savo asmenybės ir jos galių realizavimui veikloje, kur andragogas gali atskleisti savo unikalumą, savitumą, gebėjimus, vertybes, parodyti savo asmens poziciją įvairiose situacijoje, kurti tarpasmeninius santykius. Dėl skirtingai analizuojamos asmeninio efektyvumo sampratos, išskiriami ne tie patys asmeninį efektyvumą plėtojantys aspektai. Atliktas tyrimas išryškino būsimųjų andragogų požiūrį į asmeninį efektyvumą plėtojančius aspektus, kurie andragogui padeda aktyviai veikti, save realizuoti kaip asmenybę, konstruktyviai bendraujant su besimokančiaisiais. S u m m a r y This article analyzes the development aspects of andragogue’s personal effectiveness in the andragogical activities. Many of the Lithuanian and foreign scientists (Thompson, 2009; Juozaitis, 2008; Folley, 2007, Knowles et al., 2007, etc.) equate personal effectiveness development with self-realization activities. It is noted that in the scientific literature (Thompson, 2009; Starr, 2009; Longworth, 2007; Anužienė, 2006; Teresevičienė et al., 2006, Collins, 2000, etc.) andragogue’s personal effictiveness is related to the profession, which he can express their uniqueness, identities, skills, values, and show their personal position in different situations, which ensures the realization of the activities of his personality, makes learning and improvement. Many of these authors, in different ways to analyze the concept of personal effectiveness, his expression activity, releases at the same developments in aspects of personal effectiveness. Therefore, this article relevant to answer the questions: What aspects of developing andragog personal effectiveness? Subject of the article: Andragogue’s personal effectiveness and development aspects. Aim of the article: to make analysis of development aspects of andragogue’s personal effectiveness. Goals: • to make analysis of the concept andragogue‘s personal effectiveness and development aspects of the andragogical activities; • to explore approach of future andragogues towards the development aspects of personal effectiveness at studies of Andragogy in CSI of Klaipėda University. Methods: A theoretical analysis, questionnaire survey. Theoretical and empirical analysis of the article revealed that personal effectiveness is understood as andragogical activities participants (andragog and student) will aim to increase their potential for personal qualities, skills, values, learning the use of all external and internal factors: interpersonal relations, environment, incentives, needs, etc. Andragogue’s personal effectiveness in developing the following aspects: personal authenticity, the disclosure of personal traits, distinctive language vocabulary, values, beliefs system, self-realization of the activities of power, which is presented through the knowledge and experience of the relationship, reflected in interpersonal relationships. Data analysis shows that a respondent from the perception of the concept of personal effectiveness, but it decomposes into separate components of personal effectiveness. This suggests that the concept of field personal efficiency is not yet well established and understood in different ways. Almost half of respondents believe that andragogue’s personal effectiveness helps develop problem of non-standard learning situations or even in conflict situations. This shows that 15
