Alzheimer’s Caregivers, 2nd Thursday of each
month (Sept. 13, Oct. 11, Nov. 8, Dec. 13), 6 – 7:30 pm.
This group is composed of trained facilitators from the
Alzheimer’s Association and other caregivers who care for

Alzheimer’s Association Early Stage
Dementia Support Two support groups meet
simultaneously – one for persons with the diagnosis and
the other for their care partners. Call Ken Helander at

Diabetes Support 2nd Monday of each month
(Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12), 11 am – 12 pm. Facilitated by
a Registered Dietician from Avista Hospital, you will learn
how to manage your diabetes, how to eat, stay healthy,
and new ideas about nutrition. No meeting in December.
Hearing Support 3rd Wednesday of each month,
(Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21, Dec. 19) 10:30 – 11:30 am.

Caregiver Support Group at the Lafayette
Senior Center. 2nd Wednesday of each month, 3:30-5
pm. Are you caring for an adult over the age of 60? This
drop-in group is for you to talk with other caregivers, share
experiences, challenges, and resources. Co-sponsored
by Geriatric Integrated Services and Lafayette Senior
Services. Facilitated by: Judy Richtel, MA.
Rainbow Elders of Boulder County A
social support group for 55+ gay, lesbian, and transgender

Respite & Companion Volunteer Program
seeking new volunteers
in Louisville
The Boulder County Respite
& Companion Volunteer
Program, jointly
sponsored by Boulder
County Area Agency on
Aging and local Senior
Services, matches volunteers
with older adults
in the community who
live alone or with a family
caregiver. Volunteers
visit their older partners
two hours each week
and provide friendship,
emotional support, and
companion-level assistance
with various activities, as well as respite for
family caregivers. New volunteer trainings are held
regularly.

Cancer Support at Louisville United Methodist
Church, 741 Jefferson. 2nd Wednesday of each month,
7 – 8 pm. Groups available for men, women, or families.

EGSMC Stroke Support Group
or those who have recovered from a stroke. The group
is a great resource for information and encouragement.
They provide support, help you problem solve, learn about
stroke and recovery issues, help you find local resources,
or just have fun. Second & fourth Thursday of each
month, 10 – 11 a.m. at the Exempla Good Samaritan
Conference Center in Lafayette. For more information,

services and mobility options through a free telephone
consultation with a mobility specialist from Via. Call 303-

Via, formerly Special Transit, provides low
cost, door-to-door wheelchair accessible
transportation within Boulder County. Nofare
(free) or reduced-fare options are available for those
