2009/10 school year:
• 36 clients total:
o 14 continued regular visits into 2010/11 school year
o 11 through M.S.S., 22 FNIHB, 3 other
o 19 Public Schools, 17 GSCS
o 26 elementary (and individual counselling with 4 parents of elementary
children)
o 7 high school students
• Number of sessions:
o range 1-22, average of 9 sessions
o 14 had 12-22 sessions
o 15 had 2-10 sessions
o 7 had one session
2010/11 school year:
• 34 clients total to date:
o 14 carried over from 2009/10 school year
o 11 through M.S.S., 22 FNIHB, 1 other
o 19 Public Schools, 17 GSCS
o 18 elementary (and individual counselling with 3 parents of elementary
children)
o 13 high school students
• Number of sessions:
o range 1-25, average of 10 sessions
o 14 had 12-22 sessions
o 15 had 2-10 sessions
o 4 had one session
Clients referred to Dr. Willick range from ages 4 to 17, and present with a variety
of behavioural and mental health concerns. Most common issues include externalizing
issues (e.g., defiance, aggression, oppositional behaviour problems); depression, anxiety,
self-harm and suicidal ideation; and difficulty coping and adjusting to issues associated
with poverty, being a member of a visible minority, being in foster care (including
attachment disorder), as well as grief and loss.
