With the exception of Philipp<strong>in</strong>e Airl<strong>in</strong>es (PR) and Garuda<br />
Indonesia, all carriers experienced strong FTK growth with<br />
n<strong>in</strong>e carriers report<strong>in</strong>g double-digit <strong>in</strong>creases. EVA Air (BR)<br />
topped them all with FTKs ris<strong>in</strong>g 39.9% <strong>in</strong> October, followed<br />
by Cathay Pacific Airways (CX), up 35.7% and Asiana Airl<strong>in</strong>es<br />
with a rise of 33.9%.<br />
Ten carriers reported an <strong>in</strong>crease <strong>in</strong> FLF with Royal Brunei<br />
Airl<strong>in</strong>es (BI) lead<strong>in</strong>g the pack. Three carriers - Philipp<strong>in</strong>e Airl<strong>in</strong>es,<br />
Korean Air and Thai Airways International (TG) - experienced<br />
a decl<strong>in</strong>e <strong>in</strong> load factor, rang<strong>in</strong>g from -1.2 p.p. to - 4.5<br />
p.p. Ch<strong>in</strong>a Airl<strong>in</strong>es, Asiana Airl<strong>in</strong>es and EVA Air reported load<br />
factors <strong>in</strong> the 80% range.<br />

OCTOBER 31, 2002<br />
The AAPA member carriers’ consolidated <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />
RPKs contracted 0.4%, but PAX grew 2.0%. Capacity was<br />
down 2.4%, which resulted <strong>in</strong> a load factor of 73.8%, up 1.4<br />
percentage po<strong>in</strong>ts.<br />
