Introduction
On behalf of the organizing committee it is our great pleasure to invite you for
the 4 th Euregio Conference of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine.
After three successful Euregio conferences, alternately organized by one of the
university hospitals of Maastricht-Liège-Aachen, we decided to start a new
cycle of conferences. The 4 th Euregio conference will be organized by the
University Hospital of Maastricht on March, 14 th in Maastricht. The conferences
give us the opportunity to inform each other upon scientific activities at the
different sites and have become an important educational activity.
We again hope to offer an interesting program.
The program in three sessions is focused on point of care testing, metabolic
disease and finally a session on test standardization and harmonization.
We are sure that all participants will benefit from the academic exchanges and
personal contacts. We are looking forward to seeing you in Maastricht.
We wish you a fruitful and enjoyable day in Maastricht.

Public transportation
By train
You can get to the azM by train (via train station Randwijck) with the slow
trains Sittard-Maastricht and Heerlen-Maastricht as well as the intercity train
Maastricht-Liège-Knokke.
By bus
You can get to the azM by bus with the cross-town buslines: 1, 3, 4,9 and 11,
the evening cross-town buslines: 21, 22, 24 and 28 as well as the regional
buslines: 53, 56, 57, 58 and 59. All mentioned busses leave from the central
train station to the azM. Visitors who use other buslines need to transfer to
one of these lines at the central train station.
Visitors who come by bus or taxi/cab can use the west side (Westzijde)
entrance of the hospital. Busses and taxi/cabs stop underneath the azM’s
visitors restaurant there.
The cross-town busses 1 (to De Heeg), 3 (to Maasveld), 4 (to Randwijck-azM),
9 (to Heugem), and the evening/night busses 21 (to Heugem-Maasveld) and 28
(to De Heeg) as well as the Arriva-buslines 56 (to Gulpen), 57 (to Gulpen) and
59 (to Mesch). All busses leave directly from the central train station to the
azM. Visitors who use other bus lines need to transfer to one of these lines at
the central train station.
By car
You can get to the azM by car via the A2 motorway, direction Liège-Luik.
Please follow the signs that say “academisch ziekenhuis”, “ac. Zkhs.”, “H” or
“azM”.
Parking space at the azM is limited. For a small fee visitors can use the parking
decks on the south side (Zuidzijde) of the building. These decks are connected
to the hospital’s entrance via a covered footbridge.
Special parking spaces for the disabled are reserved on the top two parking
decks.
