RESTORE CDL ENTRY
This entry is used when a CDL is downgraded to a Class C noncommercial license or a Hazmat
endorsement is removed while waiting for the results of a security check. The downgrade could be
for a number of different reasons. The segment indicates the driver may restore a CDL if they meet
eligibility requirements within the permitted restoration date.

Entered when a commercial driver license is downgraded to a noncommercial license
Date the license was downgraded.
Date when eligibility to restore CDL expires.
License type. Class of license that may be restored without taking additional tests.
Permit types. Indicates type of valid permit on the driving record at the time of downgrade.
Shows whether or not driver had a valid ID card at the time of downgrade.
Endorsement codes. Shows types of endorsement on license at the time of downgrade.
Restriction codes. Shows the types of restriction on license at the time of downgrade.
An entry here means restoration was used, and the commercial driving privileges have been
restored.
Date restoration (action in field (i)) was used. This is blank if there is no entry in (i).
SECURITY CHECK SEGMENT
This segment indicates when a customer has started the security check process for a Hazmat
endorsement.

Security check indicator. Used when a customer starts the security check process or DMV
receives an unsolicited message from TSA.
Date security check was started with the fingerprint agent or date we received an unsolicited
response from TSA.
Who initiated the segment. Displays one of the following:
AGT
Agent.
PSR
Previous state of record.
TSA
Transportation Security Administration.
Note: A Security Check segment with PSR is not evidence of a valid security check for the purpose
of issuing a CDL with a HAZMAT endorsement.
Date DMV received response from TSA.
TSA response. Displays one of the following:
OK HAZMAT Customer can be issued a hazmat if the entry in (c) is not PSR.
NO HAZMAT I Customer cannot be issued a hazmat because TSA deems them a threat.
NO HAZMAT F Customer cannot be issued a hazmat because TSA deems them a threat and TSA
has issued their final order.
Date the Hazmat endorsement is removed from the driving record. A date will only display if
field (e) displays NO HAZMAT F or NO HAZMAT I. Otherwise, the field indicates 00/00/00.
Date the Security Check expires.
