RESTORE CDL ENTRY<br />
This entry is used when a CDL is downgraded <strong>to</strong> a Class C noncommercial license or a Hazmat<br />
endorsement is removed while waiting for the results <strong>of</strong> a security check. The downgrade could be<br />
for a number <strong>of</strong> different reasons. The segment indicates the driver may res<strong>to</strong>re a CDL if they meet<br />
eligibility requirements within the permitted res<strong>to</strong>ration date.<br />

Date the license was downgraded.<br />
Date when eligibility <strong>to</strong> res<strong>to</strong>re CDL expires.<br />
License type. Class <strong>of</strong> license that may be res<strong>to</strong>red without taking additional tests.<br />
Permit types. Indicates type <strong>of</strong> valid permit on the driving record at the time <strong>of</strong> downgrade.<br />
Shows whether or not driver had a valid ID card at the time <strong>of</strong> downgrade.<br />
Endorsement codes. Shows types <strong>of</strong> endorsement on license at the time <strong>of</strong> downgrade.<br />
Restriction codes. Shows the types <strong>of</strong> restriction on license at the time <strong>of</strong> downgrade.<br />
An entry here means res<strong>to</strong>ration was used, and the commercial driving privileges have been<br />
res<strong>to</strong>red.<br />
Date res<strong>to</strong>ration (action in field (i)) was used. This is blank if there is no entry in (i).<br />
SECURITY CHECK SEGMENT<br />
This segment indicates when a cus<strong>to</strong>mer has started the security check process for a Hazmat<br />
endorsement.<br />

receives an unsolicited message from TSA.<br />
Date security check was started with the fingerprint agent or date we received an unsolicited<br />
response from TSA.<br />
Who initiated the segment. Displays one <strong>of</strong> the following:<br />
AGT<br />
Agent.<br />
PSR<br />
Previous state <strong>of</strong> record.<br />
TSA<br />
Transportation Security Administration.<br />
Note: A Security Check segment with PSR is not evidence <strong>of</strong> a valid security check for the purpose<br />
<strong>of</strong> issuing a CDL with a HAZMAT endorsement.<br />
Date DMV received response from TSA.<br />
TSA response. Displays one <strong>of</strong> the following:<br />
OK HAZMAT Cus<strong>to</strong>mer can be issued a hazmat if the entry in (c) is not PSR.<br />
NO HAZMAT I Cus<strong>to</strong>mer cannot be issued a hazmat because TSA deems them a threat.<br />
NO HAZMAT F Cus<strong>to</strong>mer cannot be issued a hazmat because TSA deems them a threat and TSA<br />
has issued their final order.<br />
Date the Hazmat endorsement is removed from the driving record. A date will only display if<br />
field (e) displays NO HAZMAT F or NO HAZMAT I. Otherwise, the field indicates 00/00/00.<br />
Date the Security Check expires.<br />
