SUSPENSION, REVOCATION, AND CANCELLATION Suspension is the temporary withdrawal of driving privileges. Revocation is the termination of driving privileges. Cancellation means the driver’s license or ID card is void and terminated. All these actions affect the status of Oregon driving privileges. NOTE: Withdrawal (WTHD) is an entry used to record an action taken in another state. DMV records “Withdrawals” for historical/informational purposes. Withdrawal entries should not be used to determine if a driver has valid driving privileges in Oregon or in another state. The following are three examples of the format used for Suspensions, Revocations or Cancellation actions taken by Oregon. Following the Oregon examples is an example of a Withdrawal segment using the ACD format to record actions taken in other states; it is the standardized format used to transfer record information from state to state. Abbreviation of reason for the action. (Suspension, Revocation, and Cancellation Types (Table) starting on page 31.) Displays one of the following (page 65 for list of court, county, and state abbreviations): M-XXXXX -DMV -CA -LANE Court type and location. If the court name is more than five letters in length, it will be abbreviated. Court types are: C = Circuit; D = District; M = Municipal; J = Justice; and X = Juvenile. DMV initiated actions. State. The abbreviation of the state (if the action is a Withdrawal (WTHD)) The Oregon county of arrest. If the county name is more than five letters in length, it will be abbreviated. Proof Required Until (PRU) date is pending. Action subjects the driver to the financial responsibility law. Driver will be required to file proof of future financial responsibility (FR) before DMV can reinstate. When the action ends, PRU PEND changes to a “PRU DATE 00/00/00” entry within the driving record. Displays one of the following: ARREST Date of offense OFFENS Date of offense REF #: DMV’s reference number. Only used if the action is for an uninsured accident. Action status updates. Displays one or more of the following fields and it’s corresponding date: Note: For current and overall action status in Oregon, refer to field (i). CPLY Driver complied with court requirements on fail to appear or fail to comply suspension. This does not necessarily mean the suspension is reinstated. REIN Action has not been reinstated. The date for this field will indicate 000000. Once the action is reinstated, this field will change to REIN FULL. REIN FULL Action has been reinstated. BUS Action was previously business reinstated due to issuance of a hardship or probationary permit. REIN BUS Action is currently business reinstated due to issuance of a hardship or probationary permit. CPLT Driver complied with alcohol treatment requirement. Only required for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII) actions. RSTR Withdrawal (WTHD) is restrained to keep it from impacting the Oregon overall status. To determine if a RSTR withdrawal is still in effect, you need to contact the state noted in field (e) of the withdrawal. Action Status. Displays one of the following: ELIG FOR REIN Action is no longer in effect and driver is eligible for reinstatement. FULLY REINSTATED Action is fully reinstated. NO DL STATUS Action is not related to driving privileges (i.e. ID suspension or cancellation) PENDING ORDER Action has not taken effect. STILL SUSPENDED Suspension action is in effect. STILL REVOKED Revocation action is in effect 27
