זוכר אני כשניסיתי בצעירותי לאמת את השיטה המטריאליסטית ההיסטורית ע"י<br />
הדגמתה בגורלות עמים, כיצד התנפצה זו אל העניין היהודי, אשר גורל נושאיו נעדר<br />
הסבר לחלוטין מנקודת מבט מטריאליסטית. ואמנם, לפי הקריטריון המטריאליסטי<br />
הפוזיטיבי, צריכה היתה אומה זו לעבור מזמן מן העולם. קיומה הוא תופעה מסתורית<br />
