PACT Charter School began its existence in 1994 as a K-8 school of 84 students.
It has grown to a K-12 school of over 640 students with 2,000 plus students on the
waiting list and over 400 graduates. As a public charter school of choice, PACT is committed to
sound governance and financial stability allowing the organization to meet its vision and
mission.
It is the primary vision of PACT Charter School to partner together as parents, students, and
teachers in providing an innovative model of educational excellence for all students. In reaching
its vision, it is the mission of PACT Charter School to: Prepare students for college and life-long
learning; Promote positive character development; and Pursue a community atmosphere of mutual
respect.
The 2010-2011 school year marked 17 years of organizational success for PACT Charter School
and educational success for our students.
The year was highlighted by many successful programs and academic achievements. In addition
to many events and activities taking place throughout the school year, one of those highlights
included teachers, students and staff working hard to improve in specified areas to ensure
academic success on the state MCA tests. PACT also hired a Director of Online Education to
plan for and implement a separate online program of up to 300 addition 7-12 students, to begin in
the fall of 2012. In addition, planning began for the first (annual) PACT Homecoming to take
place in the fall of 2011.
PACT is always striving to find innovative methods of meeting its short and long-term goals –
all coming under the mission and focusing on providing an excellent education for our students.
The 2011-2012 school year will bring new and exciting opportunities – especially in the areas of
communication and technology.
In my 15 years at PACT Charter School (3 as a teacher and 12 as the administrator), I have
always valued the collaboration between parents, students and teachers. This collaboration is at
the core of what makes PACT unique in the world of public education. We have made great
strides working together - even when decisions have been difficult. As noted by Roy Disney,
nephew to Walt Disney and longtime senior executive for The Walt Disney Company, "It's not
hard to make decisions when you know what your values are." PACT is committed to our
mission, our values and our beliefs as noted in our renewed Vision, Mission and Belief
Statements. As long as we remain focused on these, I believe that we will continue to experience
great success.
