The Department of Homeland Security enhances the ability
of states, local and tribal jurisdictions, and other regional
authorities in the preparation, prevention, and response to
terrorist attacks and other disasters, by distributing grant
funds. Localities can use grants for planning, equipment,
training and exercise needs. These grants include, but are not
limited to areas of
• Port Security
• Critical Infrastructure Protection
• Regional and Local Mass Transit Systems
• Equipment and Training for First Responders
• Homeland Security Grants
The Office of Grants and Training, a component of the
Preparedness Directorate, as part of its mission, oversees the
distribution of these grants. For more information on these and
other grants contact the Office of Grants and Training.
The grants listed are from the U.S. Department of Homeland
Security. Any grant that an entity applies for in the state
of Pennsylvania is administered through the Pennsylvania
Emergency Management Agency (PEMA).
